During its sixteenth plenary session that took place on December 2 and 3, 2019, the European Data Protection Board (EDPB) adopted draft guidelines on “the Criteria of the Right to be Forgotten in the search engine cases under the GDPR.”
The guidelines, which will be presented for public consultation, provide an interpretation of Art. 17 GDPR with regard to the grounds and exceptions for delisting requests directed to search engine providers.
Another set of guidelines should follow in order to provide further information on the criteria for handling complaints about refusals of delisting.
